STAIN DISCLAIMER
When you order WOOD cabinets, it is important that you realize the following:
The beauty of transparent stain or white stained, or glazed cabinetry really comes from the true natural quality of
wood itself. The factory utilizes only the better grade hardwoods and hardwood veneers. However, natural wood
varies greatly in color. In addition to color variations, there may be mineral streaks, flecks, and/or pitch pockets
that are characteristic to various species either in minimal amounts or in abundance. The grain may also be
inconsistent, with some portions straight grained, and other portions curly or wild grained. The variations are broad,
but they are part of the beauty of natural wood. Many of these characteristics are hidden by darker stains but are
more visible when using natural finish or white stains. When using wood, the stain does not apply evenly, and the
finish is mottled.
Glazed finishes are hand applied and create the unique “non-uniform” appearance. Therefore, any additional
materials that are finished at a different time will not have the exact same appearance.
There is always a joint where the rails and stiles join on both the cabinets and the cabinet door. This joint is visible
and more noticeable when a light stain is used, or the wood grain is vivid. It is also noticeable on natural finish
because of the color variances of natural wood. On mitered joints (45°) the joint is obvious; and with the expansion
of wood, could cause a slight separation.
Wood veneers take stain differently than solid wood and may result in variation in finishes, particularly on recessed
panel doors and back panels.
We mention these conditions because neither it’s manufacturing nor North Cabinetry can be held responsible for
the type of, or degree of, variation you may experience in your kitchen.
